Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park Opens New Visitor Center
Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park has relocated its visitor center and administrative offices into the restored Cadillac Hotel. The hotel, built around 1890, served as a lodging house at the time of the gold rush. Historic Seattle, the park’s partners in this project, restored the earthquake-damaged building. The park worked with Edquist Davis Exhibits of Seattle to design new interactive exhibits that highlight Seattle’s role in the gold rush. Hadley Exhibits of Buffalo, New York fabricated the exhibits. The park held its grand opening on June 26, 2006.
